The fundamentals of energy transition in the maritime sector
(Focus on the port, yachting and pleasure boating)
This one-day training course deals with energy transition issues in the maritime industry, with a particular focus on the yachting and pleasure boating sector. The aim is to deepen understanding of energy issues in order to better grasp the decarbonisation of fleets, as well as the challenges associated with bunkering, including regulatory constraints.

Public : Harbour masters, port directors, CSR managers, ship insurers, ship financing bankers, shipyard project managers, all profiles concerned by the energy transition in the maritime sector.

The programme
Part 1 - 4 themes
-
Energies and their colours: type of energy, colours on the market, production, storage, advantages and disadvantages, challenges and limits.
-
Technologies: What technologies exist, their specific features worldwide, their differences, their advantages and disadvantages.
-
Regulations: refuelling solutions, their regulatory framework, authorisations and constraints.
-
Sustainability, a global vision of the value chain: From production to use, solutions to reduce energy consumption, local production in short circuits.
Part 2 - Exchanges
-
Brainwriting: This exercise is an opportunity for you to reflect individually on your own understanding of the session and to draft your follow-up questions.
-
Brainstorming: This is an opportunity to create links between participants, to enable collective reflection.
It is also the ideal time to present your activities and talk about your own career path. -
Role-playing: The aim of this exercise is to compare the information learned during the day with a real-life problem. We propose a concrete case study to get participants thinking about the 4 training themes, such as the choice of an engine based on a previously established specification.
-
FastFormKnowledge: A final quiz to make sure you've understood the fundamental principles. We strive to make this test both educational and enjoyable.
At the heart of this training course are two parts. The first is a 5-hour presentation of the fundamentals, including a mini-brainstorming session and a mini-quiz on each theme. The second part lasts between 1.5 and 3 hours, depending on the number of participants, and is devoted to discussion.
Objectives
-
Differentiate between all the energies concerned by the energy transition and understand the degree of decarbonisation of the various existing energies.
-
Identify the different technologies and understand their advantages and disadvantages in terms of reducing the impact on marine ecosystems (engine pollution, noise pollution, etc.).
-
Understand the regulations in force by understanding the different components of the maritime ecosystem (company, bunkering, transport, storage, etc.).
-
Adapt its environment by knowing the points of attention to reduce pollution based on life cycle analysis.

-
Assess the degree of decarbonisation of an energy concerned by the energy transition Assess the advantages and disadvantages of different technologies for reducing the impact on marine ecosystems
-
Analyse the maritime ecosystem (society, bunkering, transport, storage)
-
Apply appropriate regulations
-
Identify the sources of pollution from a ship
-
Analyse a ship's life cycle to reduce pollution
